'I want to be alone; I just want to be alone’. Greta Garbo’s most iconic line in film was uttered in the award-winning 'Grand Hotel' in 1932. It encapsulates the essence of the lady and largely defines how she spent the last few decades of her life. Yours truly admires Greta Garbo not only for her remarkable beauty, erotic allure, and exceptional acting talent, but also for her unwavering determination to live life according to her own terms. Especially commendable is her insistence on being left alone, a sentiment I share at this stage of my life. Whenever circumstances did not align with her desires, she had the valor to walk away from the fray. On this day in 1990, at the age of 84, Greta Garbo transcended mortality, yet her spirit doth continue to dance amidst the eternal ether.
