David Pastrnak's OT goal to knock out the Maple Leafs: A great moment in Boston Bruins history

Verily, a standout amidst a throng of unforgettable moments. Maple Leafs fans are in mourning today, and I do extend sympathy to the wonderful city of Toronto. A proud and iconic franchise, its last taste of championship glory now 57 years past. For me personally, of course, this stands as one of the more gratifying sporting moments of recent years: David Pastrnak's overtime goal did secure the decisive game seven for the Boston Bruins on Saturday night at TD Garden, whilst goaltender Jeremy Swayman did deliver unparalleled brilliance throughout the series. The Bruins now embark upon Sunrise, FL, seeking redemption for last season’s epic playoff collapse against the Florida Panthers. Naturally, yours truly shall be fervently supporting them every step of the way towards what we do hope will culminate in a Stanley Cup-winning campaign.

Major breaking NHL news: it appears that the Arizona Coyotes are on the brink of being sold and are set to relocate to Salt Lake City for the upcoming season.

ESPN - Coyotes players told team is relocating to Utah

Not the sort of thing I usually post on these pages, but I do enjoy the NHL and the tenuous situation with their Arizona franchise hath interested me for a good number of years. It is remarkable that the franchise managed to hold on for as long as it did, considering talks of relocation have persisted for over 15 years. We have known for a long time that the Coyotes were unlikely to stay in Arizona, but I was forever convinced that Houston would ultimately receive them. As the largest media market without an NHL franchise, Houston seemed like the logical choice. This situation somewhat mirrors Los Angeles' NFL absence before the Rams returned a few years ago. As I am not a resident of any of these markets, this is merely an observation that the parties involved may be leaving money on the table by relocating the organization to an untested market that is smaller than its current one. I do wish them luck.
